woman doing childs pose yoga pose on yoga mat

Hey there Lotus Flower!  If you practice yoga on a regular basis you should clean your mat on a regular basis. Yoga mats aren’t cheap baby so lets keep them clean!

I checked out some pre made yoga mat cleaners and the prices outraged me.  $10-$20 a bottle!!!! We have come up with a better solution that’s less expensive!

Keep a small spray bottle with these ingredients…

This recipe is non toxic so you don’t have to worry about absorbing any nasty chemicals while sweating plus it smells heavenly. Your child’s pose will thank you.

1 cup Water

1/4 cup Witch Hazel

1/4 teaspoon Tea Tree Essential Oil (30 drops)

1/4 teaspoon Lavender Essential Oil + 10 drops (40 drops)

Any essential oil will work but it is important to include those with antibacterial properties, such as Tea Tree, Lemon Grass, Lavender, Peppermint and Eucalyptus. Mix two or three together to make a combination that makes you happy.

(Essential oils can be bought at Whole Foods)

Spray your mat down after every yoga session so your Yoga May can be ready for the next session.
